I am a PhD Candidate in Counselling Psychology at McGill University where I am researching the lasting effects of maltreatment in childhood and how it influences future parenting behaviors.
I have a broad range of experiences working in the hospital, McGill university counselling clinic, private practice clinics, as well as in the context of research where I trained in assisting individuals who have struggled with sexual assault trauma, major depressive disorder, personality disorders and relationship challenges, childhood trauma and substance use issues.
I provide therapy services to individuals and couples under supervision of Dr. Zofia Czajkowska, employing various therapeutic approaches tailored to meet my clients’ specific needs. I help my clients achieve their goals using techniques from Emotionally-Focused Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Schema Therapy. I enjoy working with people struggling with relationship difficulties, complex trauma (having gone through a challenging childhood), anxiety, as well those striving for self-acceptance, and redefining their identity.
I aim to establish a collaborative and trusting therapeutic relationship with my clients, facilitating a space for exploration and personal growth. I approach therapy with a non-judgmental, empathetic, and authentic mindset. I firmly believe that the work of therapy extends beyond the confines of the therapy room, and I actively encourage all my clients to take proactive steps towards achieving their desired goals.
